JBrownMauser trigger by Sako
This trigger was on a Mauser barreled action I purchased a while back. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about these triggers. Are they any good and are the sought after? I would also like to know the resale value. Thanks.

igorrockThis is quite usual SAKO trigger from little older model. Good in use but nothing special.

manhassetSako #2 adjustable trigger available w/o thumb safety for FN Deluxe will replace the military trigger on all 98 Mausers.
#4 Sako trigger had the integeral sliding thumb safety.
Common in 60's-70's Firearms International catalogs and Flaig's of Pa. ads in the American Rifleman.

D HumbargerThe sticking point with the Sako trigger is that it works ONLY with older comercial Mauser cocking pieces & NOT the newer MKX speed lock type.

ireload2They work ok but I would not go out of my way to get one. It is a PIA even if it is free because of the cocking piece required.

Will it work with a standard 98 military cocking piece?
Thanks,

manhassetJason,
I have 3 of the Sako triggers on 2 Mex '36 and 1 1935 Peruvian 98 mausers that have the military cocking pieces, all work fine with no modifications. Maybe it depends on the individual application.

The sear will rise up into the divot in the bottom of the cocking piece and snag the bolt. You need a straight bottom cocking piece as used on an FN "commercial" type.
