A no-nonsence stock, plain M98 action. 4K.

I know we are talking collectors here, but somewhere I read that collectible junk is still junk.....

I can't tell alot about that rifle because of the pictures quality but why do you consider it junk?

Wordplay, and not meaning this rifle is junk - just that one pays 3600$for an inscription.

I hear ya, and I know guns are alot cheaper in Europe, but if the inscription said "Rigby" collectors would pay even more for the stamping. I'm not sure $3750 is too much for an original Westley these days. And consider the cost of a new custom rifle with no history or provenance.

Hard to tell from that picture but the border of the checkering is so much darker than the stock it makes look refinished.

Yes, I think it has been refinished. Might be repolished/reblued too. Maybe even tapped for a scope base! Frowner
