SD ShooterEtching caliber information on new barrel? ? ?
I am having a rifle rebarreled in a different caliber. I would like to have the caliber engraved in the top of the new barrel with the numerical digits and also the words to go with the numbers. The serial number is stamped in the side of the receiver so it would not be effected. Would anyone have a suggestion on an engraving service that could in some way laser etch the info into the barrel, rather than just stamp the digits along the side?
Thanks in advance.

SD ShooterVapodog - I contacted Scrollcutter and got a reply that he is so busy that he is not accepting any new customers. Thanks for your suggestion.
Don Slater - I have emailed Gunfancy but have not yet received a reply. Just looking at his website is very encouraging. Thanks for the info. I will post whatever I learn.

gunmakerYou're already in S Dakota. Why don't you PM Timan. He uses his CNC to engrave barrels.

Yes...and that's to his credit.
I have since been told that he has a lot of stuff on his platter.
I believe that Eugene Plante in Minnesota does this kind of engraving on barrels. You might try him.
