6.5X55 mauser question

I have a large ring mauser action hanging around doing nothing and was thinking of making up a 6.5. The action is the 30-06 lenght. What would I need to make it feed, does the magazine need a filler?

Never rode a bull, but have shot some.

That's exactly the situation I have with the 6.5 X 55 in a VZ-24.....lots of extra room for the cartridges. They feed Ok so I'm not at all concerned with it for right now but at least for me the solution is to rechamber to the 6.5-06. Something I wish I'd have done day-1.
