cummins cowboyit will work, but why polish a turd, get a VZ 24 or 98/22. I know where a brazilian action with no rust can be had for $100 with trigger and bottom metal. if you going to the trouble why not just start off with something better

cal joeThe reason for the turk is cause I can't find just a action or a whole rifle for a decent price. Where to look? Thank you.

Tex21Cummins...
Before we get too far afield, I just finished up a nice 30-06 on a Turk using a rethreaded Rem barrel I took from the parts bin. Initial results are pleasing. The action is smooth and is everything I could have asked for in a working rifle. There's not much I can bitch about from this rifle. Even though its a Turk.
I could've used a VZ and gotten the same results...

GSP7From what I understand the K.Kale turks are small shank barrel thread. I want to get a K.Kale turk action to put my extra swedish mauser 6.5x55 barrel on.
Whats so bad about the turk compared to a vz24 or other more disirable mausers? Is it just alittle rougher and not machined as nice?
Or just the fact that its a "turkey" and has less misteek

CedarmtmikeI had a 458 winnie built on one. It's a working rifle and something I could play with and experiment with. Most of the ammo fed through this rifle is hot 45-70, but enough 458 500 grain stuff has gone through it to prove it good to me. It's not pretty(mostly my fault) but it works well!
