coyotecallermodel 70 30-06 to 35 whelen
I read somewhere that you change a model 70 in 3006 over to a 35 whelen without much trouble. Any have any comments on this.

coyotecallerChuck,
Thanks, I thought it was just a case of rebarelling it. I am up in Fort McMurray, where ya from?

craigsterThe current issue of Rifle Magazine has an article on reboring by Phil Shoemaker. A good article, brought up certain points of reboring that I was not aware of, ie, certain barrels can't be rebored due to the metallurgy of the barrel steel. Check it out. A rebarrel on that rifle to that caliber should be a piece of cake for a competent 'smith. Nice rifle, classic chambering.

Dago RedIf you really want to maximize the cartridge since you are rebarreling anyways go with a 26" barrel if you can handle it. (and you could go one step farther and go with the Ackley Improved version, real whoop ass!)
