Can a short action Tikka (currently 7mm-08) be used for 284 family of cartrages?

1894I had a look at my 243 wondering about 6mm-284. I came to the conclusion that the mag did not have the width for the base of the 284 round. I am not in any sense a gunsmith or professional however

<hkr>I agree, width is my question, not the lenth. I measured the lenth and it looks like it is 3in, not 2.8in.
