CustomstoxRe: Fore End for 1885 Win.??
Get some good photos of it and send them or take the stock to a wood dealer. Chico is full of them. Or email Paul Dressel in Yakima WA.

ElaltoHi All,
I have a very beautiful shotgun butt stock that I want to use on a Winchester lo-wall that Im bringing back from the trash heap. Question is; how can I or should I go about finding a comparable piece of Walnut to make the fore end with? I would like the two pieces to match, if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Marcos (elalto)

<SDH>Treebone Carving (505-376-2145) can pre-machine a forend to fit a Win. taper barrel and install the ebony tip. Chances are the original wood was Am. Black walnut. The wood match is critical but can be stained as well. I've never used their wood as I make mine from the blank but I've heard good reports.
They can do a nice job on the butt as well including buttplate inlet.
