Browning - BBR Action
Am contemplating rebarreling an older Browning bolt rifle, not an A-Bolt. It is a 300 win mag. I called a local gunsmith and he said that he would not install even a pre-threaded barrel on a Browning action because it was "too weak" and the "torque necessary to install the barrel might ruin the action".

Wanting to get a Douglas XX #3 in a 6.5 Rem Mag. I have this action but should I wait for another one?

First I have ever heard of that (the action being weak). The action is basically a Weatherby ripoff...Browning only made them for a short time.

I had one (also a 300 Win Mag) turned into a 416 Taylor. I love it. My gunsmith never mentioned anything about the action being weak.
