Nice CZ Factory Wood

mbogo375Nice CZ Factory Wood
Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum, today I went into the shop where I got my 9.3x62 to see if they had any new 416 Rigbys with decent wood. They had some, but the wood was very plain. While looking around I saw a CZ 22LR that looked too nice to pass up, so I still don't have a CZ 416 but the 22 followed me home

mbogo375Joe,
Here is a larger photo. Make me an offer that I can't refuse (but it better contain large bore rifles or busty wenches, and my wife might not approve of the busty wenches

) .

Sorry, Image Station doesn't work properly for posting the larger image. Instead here is a slightly closer view, but the figure doesn't show as well in this photo as it does in person.

nextjoeJim,
Your bigger picture isn't showing up.
I have a Jack Belk custom CZ 550 in .416 Rigby, but the only people who have a *chance* of getting it from me are my kids or grandkids, should I have any. It might just get buried with me, instead.
As for busty wenches, I'm looking for a couple myself...
Best,
Joe

beemanbemeI was at a gun show about a month ago where they had a supposedly full array of CZ rifles. Non of them looked anything like that. In fact, (this is gonna brings howls) I thought the ones they had looked kinda clunky.

WstrnhuntrTHAT is why synthetic stocks suck! Very nice..
That is a truly cute CZ I would take that over the busty wenches

Arild IversenCongratulations ... a nice rifle indeed !
This is what happend now and then with CZ and BRNO rifles

They just pop up with some amazing wood.
I got a ZKK 601 in 308 Win. with nice fiddelback who just need som elbow grease and oil to get it shining.

AtkinsonThat is a nice piece of near full fiddle back European or Turkish walnut...very nice indeed..I really like fiddle back...cut the damn hump off that nice gun and give it a nice oil finish, Neidner butt plate, steel grip cap, forend cap, rechecker with a fancy pattern, and presto you will have a world class custom stock.

DuckearNice wood but I don't like CZ stocks. Looks like it is melting and drooping down or that is was bent to fit in the photo!!!!
23 June 2003, 12:05
fla3006That really is a beautiful factory stock. Occasionally Brnos show up that way. I have a ZKK-601 223 that has fairly nice factory walnut and once had a ZKK-600 270 with truly "exhibition" quality walnut.

Orion 1Niiiiiiiiiiice stick!!!!
It's awesome that you found a full stock CZ 452. It is listed in CZ's Czech website, but not in the CZ-USA site. So, either CZ-USA is importing them but haven't updated their site, or someone brought it in directly from Europe.
Either way, the wood is gorgeous, and the stock shape needs no "improvement".

mbogo375Orion,
I was told by another dealer who stocks CZ's that this was a limited run of 500 rifles (he had 2 and sold them), and that he could get no more. I don't know if this is the case, but I was happy to find the one that I did

It might be a limited run for importation, but they are an everyday offering in Europe. Go here to check it out CZ UB . You may have to navigate your way to rimfire rifles.
As soon as I saw your rifle, I looked in Guns America for CZ 452. I found two like yours, both going for nearly $400.

Cal SibleyIt looks to me like CZ is ready to grab a much larger share of the U.S. market. They also made the Brno rifles didn't they? That was one hell of an accurate rifle. Most of what I've heard about the CZis is the same. Best wishes.

mbogo375Orion,
You are correct. What I should have said is that the dealer was told that it was a limited importation of 500 rifles (supposedly ordered by a distributor in Alabama). The manual that came with the rifle shows this as a normal option, but as you noted this is not mentioned on the US CZ web site. As I stated, this was second-hand information, so CZ-USA may or may not be importing more. If they do not, they are missing a nice option.
Jim
Orion,
that website just makes me drool, I wish all models were availbe in Australia. My 9.3x62 "Lux" is a special order and although it should be here by the months end it has taken around 9 months I reckon since I bit the bullet and ordered one.

Agree 100%. The more I shoot my 452, the closer I come to buying a 550 as well.
I shot some incredible 20 shot groups at 100 yards with my 452 on Saturday. That thing is a shooting machine.

mbogo375Orion,
What type of ammo does your 452 prefer? A friend says he gets better groups with Aguila SE than target grade ammo including Eley 10X, Federal, etc. Nah, I couldn't be that lucky

Orion 1It seems to like Wolf Extra Match and, incredibly enough, CCI Mini Mags.
Orion,
I have a Brno Model 2 452 .22 LR and that is an awsome shooter. Brno's CZ's always have been great shooters. I bough that when I was 12 1/2 payed for it by selling wool I had picked of dead sheep. My Father has an orginal Model 1 Brno with flip up express style sights, he moves into town soon and that will be re-directed to my safe
![[Cool]](images/icons/cool.gif)
it has the smoothest bolt & and slickest feeding I have ever felt it was amde in the 1950's or there abouts.
Orion,
I have one answer for your question thats get both so you will have a matched pair of CZ's in both 9.3 & 6.5
Did you expect any other kind of answer

Either Lux or American. Not decided yet.
