Mounts for Steyr-Mannlicher
I am trying to find a base/ring combo in gloss, for 30mm tube, to fit a Steyr Mannlicher, Model M, in 30-06. The only cataloged base I've been able to find is the Weaver S-432. I'd prefer a dovetail style, if I can find something that works. A friend tell me that the Burris bases for a Browning A-bolt should fit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Stoney

Perhaps you should contact the importer. Mannlicher makes an own swing mount, which should fit both your gun and your wishes. I also think that EAW in Germany makes mount for Mannlicher. www.eaw.de

Especially if You have open sights on Your rifle, You should get Steyrs own mount, the European or detachable version. Even if European mounts are often too high, this one is one of the lowest, and it REALLY holds zero!

Good shooting! H

I had a few Steyrs in the 80's and always used Conetrols. Though they may be the rings/bases that Steyr sold? Don't really remember. Don't have a Brownells catalog handy but don't think that Leupold does a Steyr base setup. I would suggest contacting Steyr.
