What happens when it does not work.
Symptoms help with diagnosis.

Hard for that not to work. It should be just a trough.
Why do you need one at all? For single shot shooting, just throw the round in front of the bolt somewhere, it will go in, I guarantee it.

Hi---i place the case in the trough and start the bolt forward--there is a lip at the front end of the follower that starts the case into the chamber-- the bolt moves the case forward
until the case is balanced on the lip-
As it moves forward the case starts to tilt down
and lands on the bullet-then the mouth of the case touches the start of the chamber and stops hope i explained this correctly
thanks Sydney

Have you tried DPCD's advice yet? I would. Hand start the case into the chamber and chamfer your brass.

Yes, here is your advice; remove the trough. Throw it in the trash.
Single load your rifle as described above.
Or, since you can see what it is doing that is bad: the lip on the trough is guiding the round to the wrong place, then remove the lip and steer the round to the right place; the chamber mouth. That is how you make rifles feed; observe what they are doing that is not what you want, and remove or add metal to make them do what you want. Simple.

Sounds like he bought the score high or high score brand which is a poor design in my opinion although I have no hands on experience with these single feed ones. First thought is,,,,What's with the lip where a ramp should be? The PTG version has a better profile. Go to Midway and use their PTG photo as a guide to dremel the lip into a ramp and finish it up smooth with 1000 grit wet/dry paper or just spend the money on a PTG unit. If you don't feel confident enough to dremel the ramp, sent it to dpcd.

And I'll use a ball end mill and remove the lip.
