<dartonvpr>mannlicher style stocks
Been thinking about getting a mannlicher stock for my 788. Like the look of these stocks, but how do they affect accuracy, or do they?

Paul BWell Mannlicher style stocks are great looking and some shoot well and some don't.
Barrel bedding is extremely critical. If you want one, go for it, but be aware that your accuracy may not be as good as before.

AtkinsonProperly bedded, you won't have any trouble..the main problem is the wood you buy today is crap and contains a gallon or two of moisture and the thin forend wood on the manlichers tends to wonder in several directions at once....
I only use very dry, fully cured, stright grained, quarter sawn Turkish on Manlichers and it ain't cheap...A decent Manlicher blank will set you back $600 and with a little purty in the butt, a grand or more...
Not a good plan for a M-788..
