The Jewish Mauser?
Local pastor stopped at the shop today to pick up a firing pin I made for him and he was looking at the Mausers I have in various stages of completion and he said...."Wow, you even have a Jewish Mauser."

Can you find it.......

I think he's still laughing at me!

Is it #11? (Of course it could also be a Scottish Mauser because someone's too cheap to buy a sling swivel stud)

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

How about an expose on how you are making those real nice looking forend tips with the widow's peak, or whatever they are called.

Special tooling?

The ebony/cocobolo/rosewood tip is simply milled in the Bridgeport and I use a 3/8" diameter end mill. The 3/16" radius of the endmill leaves the curved extension.

For the end of the stock I mill the stock flat and cut the groove with a band saw and a fine blade. I glue them together with dyed Glass bedding gel so any small voids are fully filled and invisible.

The one with the inserted cocobolo was a very difficult task and I used autocad to draw both male and female contours and I sawed them on the fine toothed bandsaw and hand sanded until they fit together......again gluing with dyed epoxy bedding Gel.

I'll get some better photos of that one.....

tin can
There once was a mohel from Nantucket,
So good he could nip and tuck it.
For cutting the best,
He'd ask for largess,
Saying, "Just drop your tip in the bucket."
