ForrestBWhat happened to OldWorldWalnut.com?
Bill Dowtin's website, OldWorldWalnut.com, has been down for several months. Does anyone here know what is going on with Dowtin and his stock blank business?

gunmakerI talked to him quite a while back (year?)and after he basically told me I was an idiot for trying to make a living working on guns, he was selling out his wood inventory and retiring.

Idaho Sharpshooterhe may have been right, with the proliferation of plastic stocks these days.
But thank you for taking up the challenge.

Gun toterI seriously doubt his problem was that he was trying to make a living working on guns.
His problem is HE IS A CROOK and his reputation was finally catching up with him. He moved to two states running.
Funny, he thinks the problem is the industry. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Fuck people and see how long you stay in business.
Bill Dowtin, good BYE, the industry does not need him thats for sure!

CAS IIThis will sound bad, but several years back I was talking about Bill with someone who had known him a while. This gentleman's comment was that he was surprised that no-one had killed Bill yet.
When I first read the thread title, the first thought that went through my mind was that Bill must have acted like himself in front of the wrong person.

ForrestBI'm just wondering if karma finally caught up with him.
My guess is he's either dead, in prison or in a pysch ward somewhere. He was found guilty of kidnapping and several firearms related charges several years ago in Arizona. He was doing gunsmithing work even after his FFL was revoked and he was on parole on the firearms convictions. I don't know how he managed to stay out of prison over the past fifteen years.
Certainly there's a fair number of folks who wouldn't mind seeing him get his just rewards.
