FN Supreme Rear Sight?
I picked up a really nice FN a few years ago and would like to know what rear sight it originally came with. The barrel is clean so I assume some sort of receiver sight was supplied to mount on the rear bridge. Does anyone have a picture of what is should have? Better yet, does anyone know where I might find one? Thanks in advance.

Most likely an Armstrong receiver sight, similar to a Lyman receiver sight.

Mayby it's one of these "commercial" rear sights being sold by Bob's Gunparts:

Thinking back to the ads I saw in the '50's for these rifles they sometimes showed the peep sight. I never saw an ad showing the sight light is in Bob's Gun Parts. (Nevr heard of Bob's, can you give contact information?)

If the receiver is not D&T for scope bases and the stock is cut next to the rear bridge for a receiver sight block, it could be for a Lyman, Redfield or Armstrong. All 3 were used and the inletting is different for each.

Well a bit more research (digging through old Gun Digest's) and it appears that the sight "Bob's" has is the correct one for my rifle. In the books it is referred to as the "Tri-range rear sight". Appears Bob's has misrepresented it in that they describe three aperture sizes. Look closely and you can see the apertures are at different elevations I assume for 100, 200 and 300 yards. The equivalent of folding leafs in a rotary design. Pretty slick. Though my rifle is D&T'd on the rear bridge the wood is not inletted. I have ordered the one from Bob's. Appreciate the help. On another note, this sure is a nice rifle, as they should be made IMO. A nice classic stock, wing safety on the left side and all very well finished. Much preferred over the Browning FN's.
