Winchester M70: 1"x16tpi
Remington M700: 1.50x16tpi
Savage 110: 1.055x20tpi
Howa M1500: 1.020x1.5 pitch ( same is a Jap Arisaka type 38 or type 99 or a JP Sauer).
Hope this helps.

PS: A good friend of mine came to the shop one day to check on the progress of a JP Sauer I was rebarreling for him. I had a Jap Type 99 7.7 mm
barrel hand screwed onto the action. When he saw it he almost fainted! [Big Grin] Yep; we're still best of friends. [Big Grin] I just couldn't resist.

The Remington 700 family all have 1.062 X 16 TPI. Keep in mind that the actual major diameter of threads is actually less than the theoretical dimension. Frank DeHaas really blew it when he tried to use measurements as thread designations. Beginners often try to make the thread with full diam., have sharp points at the top and bottom of the threads. That is not the correct method. Skilled machinists use thread wires or thread micrometers when single point cutting threads, you must measure the pitch diameter.
