Reboring a 35 caliber barrel

He did two for me in the recent past, for a BLR takedown. They are as accurate as the factory barrel.

NO; you cannot do that.
Bore diameter for a 9.3/.366 barrel is .358.
So, since there is no steel to clean up for the bore, it can't be done.
Are rebored barrels accurate? Yes, enough to kill a deer. Jesse does a good job.

358 land or bore diameter doesn't matter; groove diameter is .358 and that is all that matters. .
Bore diameter on a 9.3 is also .358.
You can't use any existing barrel surface on a rebore; it has to clean up completely in reaming.
So, no, .008 s not enough; you can't use the old groove surface for your new bore surface.

I've got a Colombian Mauser that was rebored to .30-06 from 7x57 way back when. I had the barrel re-contoured to simulate a light sporter. Sonofagun will shoot 1 " groups with handloads.

I agree with NO not enough metal..I disagree that rebored barrels are not accurate as new barrels, everyone I have owned shot under two inches and most shot an inch.

You might consider a 375 x 62, I built one and it duplicated factory 375 loads and better IMO than the Chatfield-Taylor. I just necked up the 9,3x62 to 375, no other change..

Well, if you sent the rifle to Douglas and had them re-barrel it, you could sell the .350 barrel and recoup some of the money. That might make it affordable. You might just be better off selling the whole affair and buying what you want. Sounds like a money pit waiting to happen.

If Jes says that he can do it, you could have it chambered to the 9.3 Barsness Sisk which (I believe}is just the .350RM necked up. Duplicates the 9.3x62.

The 358 caliber will do anything that a 9.3 can; work up loads and go kill stuff with it. You gain nothing by going to 9.3.
Which cannot be done by reboring; you will have to rebarrel.

You have plenty of metal to go to the .375-06, 375x62 both outstanding calibers. 10,75x68 also a fine caliber that might work.
