I need help
Hey guys,

I have a Sako 22 Hornet rifle. It seems to be one of the first actions Sako made in this calibre.

I have serious extractor problems and would like to replace the extractor but I can not find one at a dealer anywhere in South Africa or on the web.

Can some one please help?

Gerhard

Sako parts, for discontinued models, are hard to come by in the US. I would try Sako in Finland. They are not very responsive, but if you keep trying, you might get an answer. I would venture to guess that it would be easier to build up the extractor and re-shape it.

Thank you AZ Pete.

I tried to contact SAKO in Finland via email but had no response.

I will look around to find someone that can build a new one out of spring steel.

You might try calling Jim Lutes in Kansas. Crusty old fart but he has theparts for about every Sako ever made! Catch him in a good mood and he`s really nice. LOL

Thank you for all the advice.

I won second price.

By that I mean that I had a copy made by a local gunsmith, he used a shotgun hammer spring.

It looks like it will work but dont know for how long.
