Just wondering. A winchester M70 in a lighter caliber with a double set trigger would be kinda fun.

There was an article in one of the gun mags years ago about fitting a dst to the model 70. Maybe someone here remembers which one and when.

One could be made but I have found that DSTs are generally a bad idea on hunting rifles. With all due respect to German hunters who use then. I have rifles with then and usually do not set them. Most of my flintlocks have them but you have to practice a lot to effectively use them. A good standard trigger is better, IMO. Now, for target shooting, they are great.

The "NRA Gunsmithing Guide- Updated" book has a page(pg. 148) about installing a DST in a Winchester 70.

A set trigger, single or double, is a screw up waiting to happen.

X-Treme makes a very good two-stage trigger for the Winchester model 70.
