I live a little west of Houston. Retired last week and am looking for a gunsmithing school. Hopefully, within 200 miles. Can anyone help me out?

matt salmMurray State College is in Tishomingo, OK. Just on the north end of Lake Texacoma (or something like that). I took a summer course there (rifle rebarreling) and the equipment and facilities are top-notch in my opinion. Instructors were very knowledgeable and I learned about twice what I expected.

CustomstoxTrinidad State Junior college in Trinidad Colorado is excellent. The NRA holds one of their summer gunsmithing schools there and it is an incredible bargain. I attended a class in 1999 and there was a fellow from TX who had retired just like you.
Check with Mark Stratton his email is octbarrel@aol.com
Mark is teaching a class again this summer and can give you the contacts.

BeelzebubbaIf there are no gunsmithing courses nearby, you might look into machine tool technology courses at technical colleges. - John

<Sooner>Willie, I am a student at Murray State and I can tell you it is top notch. You will never find a school with the amount of machinery and tools as MSC. Email me if you need any details or contact info.
