6_5X57The correct name is "Santa Barbara" action. It is a mauser action made in Spain, by A governmental enterprise ("Empresa Nacional Santa Bárbara"). At this moment, is out of production. I own a rifle with this action and I am happy with it. The action looks like strong, has a nice regulable trigger and a floorplate system similar to Argentine mauser 1909. The barrels installed in this action by the firm, ared used to be very accurate.
Maddog , I have one that was sold by Sears . It seems OK. differnt bolt handle than a FN, fireing pin spring seems alittle stiff(comment about the spring stiffness in the DeHass book also). Has the "C" ring.

Yep. A little stiff, but new springs can be had for just about any "poundage" from wolff.
