I think I remember thaqt in the last year someone posted photos of a very nicely done MRC 1999, well done classic custom treatment.

The gun was wood and blue and I can't remember who the gunsmith was but he was familiar with making the action "right", required a bit of extra work. Could it have been a firm with two brothers?

Sound familiar?

Here are a couple of MRC long actions that became 404 Jeffery rifles built by Tip Burns. Stock work by John Valicek! Engraving by Roger Kehr, aka Scrollcutter of this forum.

The actions are nice and they finished beautifully!

Do a Google search on "Hotater", go to the Web pictures and click on the Model 1999 workup. Jack Belk (aka Hotater) did the stoning and polish on one of the first M1999s. It's his picture collection. You will find a LOT of good stuff on Jack's pic site. I still reference it...

I spoke to Jim last week. He told me he has 5 rifles working right now and expects to have them all complete by about June. He is focused on getting ready for the Guild Show. The "Pair of Seven" rifles that will be raffled have made the rounds over the last year at several shows. He will be touching them up and doing whatever other final prep needs to be done.
