Saami vs CIP specs. .30-'06.
Is anyone aware of any differences in the rim dimensions on Euro vs. US factory .30-'06 cartridges? I am unable to find C.I.P. specs anywhere. Help appreciated as always. Ray

I managed to snag a copy of the CIP specs before they hid them again.
The max cartridge dim for the rim is 12.01 mm.
The drawings do not have a tolerance box so I do not know what the min rim is.

12.01 = .473

The SAAMI drawing has = .473 -.010
That means .473 max .463 min.

When a dimension is toleranced that way it means that .473 is the preferred size but the only tolerance allowed is smaller.
The manufacturer should attempt to make parts at or near the .473 dim.
In reality they will split the difference and run in the center of the tolerance at .468 or .469.

Thanks. Good info. so...Same as Saami for rim diameter. I wonder about rim thickness. Saami spec. is 1.2mm or .049.

CIP says 1.24 = .049 rounded
