muzzle loader nipple repair?
I have a muzzle loader that has the nipple threads striped out.
is there a larger thread nipple avaliable
and Can it be rethreaded to a larger nipple.

Yes, there are larger or oversized nipples available. You first need to know what size you have and then order the next size up at least. Yes you can drill out the hole and retap for the oversized nipple.

Give them a call and tell them the rifle you have and what you want to do. They have muzzleloading gunsmiths on staff so you will be talking or be able to talk to a guy that can lead you through it and tell you what you need. They have several sizes of nipples and differetn thread sizes avaialble and the taps to go with them. They also sell a dilling jig to keep the hole correctly aligned with your drum. If all else fails they even sell standard sized and oversized Drums to replace the entire unit. Though it is best to order one not drilled for a nipple and use the jig to align the new hole correctly with your hammer and drill and tap the new hole.
