Can anybody tell me about these rifles? I see one for sale in a chambering I like but don't know anything about them.

I'll give it a shot. They were the precursor to the A-Bolt. Nine (?) locking lugs on the front of the bolt, 60 degree bolt throw, tang safety, drop floor plate with detachable magazine, recessed sling swivels, etc. They were nice rifles in my opinion. Have heard of lots of good shooters. I bought one in a 257 Roberts when they sold out because I really liked the style. Of course, I still haven't fired it so can't tell you how it shoots.

Edit: And, if you didn't know, the name fits the Browning style of the day (Browning Bolt Rifle-BBR, Browning Automatic Rifle-BAR, Browning Lever Rifle-BLR, Browning Pump Rifle-BPR, etc.)

I have one in a 7mag, not a bad ole gun, bought it in 1978, good shooter, no complaints other than the stocks were green and many broke, mine did, broke like a baseball bat, glass bedded it back together and shot it like I had good sense. I redid an abolt B&C a few years back and put it that.

The ole guns had many rounds shot thought it and it still shoots 1moa most of the time. I don't hunt with any more, just take it to the range about once a yr.

If the price was right I'd buy another.
