I have just bought a Winchester Mod 70 African Express in .375. Warne bases (M902M), rings and S&B 2.5-10x56 scope. Bases are correct and fit well, ditto rings. Scope will not zero, as rear base is too high. Does anyone know of a base/ring combo which will work with a large scope? Trouble is I am off to hunt in 10 days. Nothing like leaving things to last minute...

With your short time frame I would try putting a shim under your front base.

Thanks for idea. I cheated - gunsmith fitted 1.25-4 S&B on it and it zeroes just fine. There's a lot more adjustment. Warne have kindly volunteered to machine a lower rear base ($11.95!) which will be long-term solution.
