03 Springfield Tang Safety
Hi all,

I doing some research for my father. He saw something in a book about a safety for the 03 that was a tang type. Has any one heard of such a safety?

I don't know of a "tang safety" for the Springfield, that is to say a safety that sits on the rear tang, ala a Ruger. Timney however, makes a trigger which has the safety on the side of the rear tang, ala a Rem 700.

Hopethis helps.

Hi Jerry,

Know I asked him the same question about the timney. He said it was more to the rea on the right side of the tang. From the sounds of it it was made along time ago....

There was a thread on this earlier this year; Canjar made a Mauser and maybe a Springfield tang safety trigger assembly. It was inletted to fit right behind the tang and had a reach-rod that activated the standard trigger safety.

Canjar isn't going to do any more.
