Rem 700 Receiver Sight...

I have an old rem 700 ADL with 2 blanked screw holes in the left side of the receiver. Does anyone know if this is for a aperture sight? If so, does anyone make one to fit this rifle? I suppose I would need a new front sight too. Mike.

Yep thats for a peep sight all right.
You can get a Lyman or williams.The two common ones. You might need a higher front blade.

I have used a Williams on mine and it works just fine with the factory front blade.
