Scope rail questiion...
The front and rear bridges of Rem 700, Howa 1500(Wea Vanguard) are different
heights with the rear being lower.

So do the one piece scope rails for REM 700, Howa 1500, etc,
being made by different companies, have the extra metal thickness
on the bottom of the back of the one piece rail to fit down
on the back bridge, without needing a shim. Ed

Both bases are made to proper height. Here's a comparable example, a customized Win 70 .338 Win Mag topped off with a Swarovski rail scope.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Not in my experience, but maybe it depends what you mean by "fit." In this age of cnc machines I've been disappointed in every new rem 700 I've seen; the receivers seem to be finished by hand with a belt sander. All of the 1-piece rails I've installed needed shims/bedding/modification to actually fit. You can put one on with the screws started but not tight, then tighten one or another and see if the rail levers up on the other side. Sure you can crank down the screws but then you're bending the rail and/or receiver slightly.
