9,3x64 in a 338 Winmag?
Is it an easy task to rebuild an Ruger M77 / 338 Winmag to 9,3x64?

Magasine lenght should be ok, but what about the bolt face?

I see bolt face as an issue. The 338 is .532 the 9.3x64 is .496. I would prefer to take an 06 open the face and swap the magbox and follower if needed.

x2. It's the easiest way to do it.

When I was faced with that decision, my choice was to go with the 9.3x338, and use the Ruger action unmodified. Given the same choices, I would make the same decision again, as I have been very satisfied with my 366 Alaskan wildcat. Even though it ballistically duplicates the 9.3x64, I find that the absence of feeding issues, and the ease of finding brass is a real plus.

The .338 and 30-06 use the same length action.

Buy a stripped 30-06 type M77 bolt, open it up for the x64 case, and transfer the rest of the parts over to the new bolt.

Thanks for answers guys.
Next question...
To make a -64 out of a -62 , what needs to be done?
Not many 9,3-64 around, but truckloads of 9,3-62.

Open the boltface, maybe a little feed work and rechamber.
