<9.3x62>30-06 to 9.3x64
Got a pre-64 model 70 that I'm thinking I may make into a 9.3x64 Brenneke. How much of a pain will it be to modify the bolt face and rails? This has always turned me off before, but I thought I'd check with the local gurus...

Atkinsonyou can damn near change the bolt face with your fingernail and about all you have to do is re barrel and chamber it...sometimes a little bit of rail work is needed and sometimes not, mostly not...Its an easy job anyway you cut it most of the time. I like to leave myself and out

<9.3x62>Ray:
RWS brass won't give me trouble with thick rims will it?
Also, tell me about your BRNO 9.3x62...

VFR1I sent Danny Pedersen, Prescott AZ, a 1953 M-70 in '06. He rebored and rifled it to 1:12 and rechambered to 9.3x64. The only other mod was to change the caliber on the bbl. Feeds as original. He liked it so much, he is building himself one.
