Howa Made Rifles
A fried of mine has a Mossberg model 1500 that was made by Howa. This rifle is sold by Weatherby as the "Vanguard" and was also sold by Smith & Wesson. S&W sold a model 1500 with a hinged floorplate and a model 1700 with a detachable clip magazine. The Mossberg also has the clip magazine.Yes you guessed right ,he has lost his clip. I have searched just about everywhere and have been unable to find a clip (for 30-06or 270). There wouldn't be anyone out there with a wrecked rifle that would part with the hinged floorplate ,magazine spring and follower,is there?? Failing that any suggestions on what floorplate assembly might be adapted to the Howa action would be appreciated. Thanks

A couple companys carry a lot of magazines....a long shot but try Cheaper Than Dirt and Hoosier gun Works.

Both have websites.

Might also try CDNN investments. They carry a lot of obscure magazines.
Legacy Sports is the current Howa importer. They could probably help with new parts to change it to a fixed magazine, if the actions haven't been changed over the years.

In the back section of Gun Digest, there are several places that sell clips and magazines. It used to be Gun List, but they changed the name to Gun Digest.

I have a Mossberg Model 1550 with a detachable magazine. I bought a spare from Gunparts Corp ( Numrich) They are listed as being for 30/06 and 270 Win. Four round capacity. Part numbers are 702560 A, 702560 B, and 702560 C. The different numbers relate to the different models of rifles. Cost is $ 52.45. Quality is as good as the original. I would order another if they were not so exspensive. Big Grin

Bob Thanks a bunch for your help and part # s. I had contacted Gun Parts previously and the person I talked to claimed they had no parts for this rifle. I phoned again with your part #'s and they have a clip in stock.Go figure?
