.22 K-Hornet-Question for Jack Belk
My next project will be the rechambering of a Hornet to the K version. Which would be the best starting point, CZ or Ruger? Advantages of each? I would be purchasing either rifle new. Thanks, Bob

Cobalt--

I've had both models you mention and have emailed you an article written for Varmint Hunter magazine and published in issue #22.

In the article I explain why the Ruger is a waste of money, time, effort, and optimism.

The best group I've ever shot from a factory rifle (including several 40XBBRs) was a three shot with a freshly rechambered CZ-527. Most need re-crowning but otherwise are ready to go.

That rifle now has over 2000 rounds through it and thats the only three that's hit paper....I'm scared it would ruin my confidence in it. [Smile] [Smile]

Thanks Jack. I have several 550's and an old BRNO but have never owned a 527. That's a pretty sweet group, by the way, and thanks for the article. Bob
