Remington M700 Rebarreling Question
Has anyone here rebarreled a long action Remington M700 ADL (or perhaps any square breeched push feed bolt action I suppose) previously chambered for one of the 30'06-based cartridges to any of the following cartridges:

338'06
338'06 Ackley Improved (or any Ackley Improved cartridge based upon the 30'06 I suppose)
35 Whelen
35 Whelen Ackley Improved
9.3x62mm

I am specifically interested in whether you encountered any difficulties with the magazine function or feeding reliability. The conventionally shouldered 338'06 and 35 Whelen ought to feed reliably - at least when using spitzers - through the M700 30'06 action. (I am aware that Remington chambered the M700 for the 35 Whelen during its too brief domesticity.) When it comes to the Ackley Improved case I wonder if the change in body taper or shoulder location creates any complications in the magazine? The 9.3x62mm is not "Improved" per se but seems to be operating at the edge the '06 case size envelope so I wonder if the action is happy feeding the .366 286-293 grain semi-spitzer? Good hunting!

I've had several done, and no action/magazine work was necessary. A current left-hand BDL in a Chet Brown stock has four barrels: .25-06, .270, .30-06, and .338-06. No problems feeding any of the cartridges using bullets weighing from 100gr to 225gr.

Had a 700adl, 3006 rebored about 20 or 25 years ago to 35 Whelen Ack Imp. Has always fed just fine with no modifications to the action. I have never used 300 gn bullets. My standard has been 250gn spire points.

I did just rebarrel one to 9,3x62 and that works great without modification.
