seafire/B17GWill a Barrel from a Ruger 77/22 Hornet thread to a 77MK 2 in 223?
Does anyone know if a barrel thread from a Ruger 77/22 chambered in a Hornet is the same thread as on a 77 Mk 2 chambered in say a 223?
I have available a barrel take off from a 77/22 Hornet... and I have a 77 Mk2 in 223 that is in need of a new barrel... or being shortened and rechambered...
I am aware that I will have to rechamber the Hornet Barrel to 223....
Thanks for the responses guys...
cheers

BlueprintedRuger had a bunch of problems with those Hornet barrels. Mine had tight spots. I would go the sit back and rechamber on the barrel on it or do an Adams and Bennett. Might be more headache than it is worth if if the hornet barrel will even spin up to your action. Just my 2 cents.

Throw it away. The Ruger 77/22 Hornet was the most disapointing rifle I have ever owned and the majority who've had them feel the same way.
If you look close at that barrel you might find it marked 'Skeet' because that's most likely the pattern you'll get as opposed to a group.

Send the action to Dave at
IT&D Custom Gun and get a Douglas barrel put on. Cost is very reasonable and they do nice work.
