I posted this in the African Hunting section too. Just in case I don't subscribe to it already...which do you think are the best magazines printed in English on both hunting and firearms?

Subscribe to African Hunter Magazine which is published in ZIM.

Both of the above are good for hunting topics.

For rifles, the only magazine I like is Rifle Magazine. But it does not talk about African hunting rifles much.

Guns, Rifle, Man Magnum, and Hunting

Nowadays you won't miss much if you skip a few gun magazines. Rifle and Reloader are good magazines, and so American Hunter (NRA magazine).

The problem with most gun magazines is that lots of articles are written to advertise what they call new cartridges. These gun writers even take hunting trips to kill something with the gun being advertised, then imply that such gun is the best one around, the most accurate, etc.

What I have been doing lately, is selecting magazines that contain articles from writers that are not just trying to sell you a product. For example, I have always enjoyed Mike Venturino's articles. Also, Wayne van Zwoll writes excellent gun articles every now and then. There are a few other writers who don't fall into the advertising trap, and I will mention their names in the future (whenever I remember their names).
