DeweyFolding peep on rear mount base?
A couple of months ago, there were photos of a prototype scope mount rear base incorporating a fold-down rounr peep sight here on AR. Can anyone recall who was doing this and post the relevant thread or info. on this?

Art S.Redfield or someone used to make these, which fastened on the rear of the rear mount with two No. 2 screws. I bought 10 from Numrich for about $3.00 apiec. I haven't tried them yet.

viperidaeThis is a link to the gunparts listing for these. Thay have been sold out for a while but you can see what they look like.
http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ca...d=1199700&catid=6470If you search eBay for "Redfield Jr Peep" you will find them. They come up for sale frequently and you could always take the peep of the base and install it on another.

Now that is pretty. Looks as though there might be some elevation built in. Is this correct? Either way, very nice.

BaxterBRich,
Does that peep have good tension when it is in the upright position to keep it in place or does it simply fold up?

Actually "The Little Blue Peep" was made by Buehler. They made two versions, one for a Buehler base and the other was marked R for Redfield.
I found out the hard way, I didn't know there was a difference and bought one on Ebay for a Bueler I have. When it got to me it marked for a Redfield. Nicely made peep though.

kcstottActually I do have a prototype in the works but nothing finished yet. The damn windage adjustment is giving me trouble. I can make a fixed flip up no sweat though.
Flip up sight It's rough but i'm still playing with the design
