New stock for my Savage
Where else can I find a relatively cheap ($100), mostly inletted stock for a short action, model 12 Savage other than Boyds? I was going to order their laminate, thumbhole, varmint stock but both colors are backordered for 8-10 weeks. I dont want anything nice just something real similar to the Boyds without the wait. Thanks guys.

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded.

I'll second Richards Microfit!

I've purchased 2 stocks from there and they worked out well for me.

I'm on 7 weeks waiting since my order so it may not be any better.

Try Stockade Gun Stocks, Ask for Kevin Rayhill, he is a real nice fell, he has a website. Don't pay any attention what is said about him on the Savage website. He does good work and is fair prices. His delivery time is about 4-5 weeks, but get that out of his mouth and not from me. I am confident that is what he will tell you but I don't want to speak for the other man.

I have done several Richards Mictofit Stocks. They take quite a bit of work to finish. In my opinion you get what you pay for.

You might try the Brownell's synthetic Savage stock. They are a little more expensive but do have the aluminum framework and are very rigid. They are not light however.

Looks like a rip-off of GAG? Maybe a sub contractor? lol There simply aren't any GOOD semi-inlet providers left!

Charles Richards provided a decent product.
But since he sold the company and retired,
all they provide is unusable firewood! thumbdown

OK. OK. Give Wenig's a try.
