<Doc Garnett>1909 Erfurt Mauser ?
Gentlemen --
I have one. Looks to be pristine in its original military configuration. Action is like butter (Parkay!).... Did I read somewhere that this is one of the Mausers with metalurgy problems? Anything in particular I ought to know about this rifle?

TGetzenI remember reading that the 1917 Erfurt was a small ring with large ring threads, and could be problematic with pressure. I don't know about the 1909 though.
Nice find, you don't see too many of those old ones in original trim.

<JBelk>Doc---
If it's original don't tear it down! Those are not that common in original condition.
Most of the European Mausers have been "Arsenalized" to one degree of destruction or another.
How is it marked?
