BuddyK-9You might want to be a little more specific in what type work you want done; metal, stock, engraving, checkering, custom mounts, barrels and so forth. This forum has them all. I wouldn't start to mention any in fear of leaving out one or two but don't exclude anyone outside of Oregon. Washington State has some of the best.

375fanWayne York built a rifle for me about a year and a half ago. I liked his work enough that right now he is building a 404jeffery for me. Probably going to send him at least one if not two rifles to restock. He does make synthetic stocks.

Very good point! I have two types of rifles: working guns and pretty guns that work. The working guns are synthetic stocked and have remington or ruger actions. The pretty guns that work are mausers on nice wood, with custom metal.
I could actually use pointers to both types of gunsmiths. Washington is fine. Won't help me much if you don't mention any names--for fear of leaving someone out.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded, "Because they don't make a 46."
