Mark Penrod- Ruger No.1

I contacted Mr. Penrod about a recessed safety for a #1. I though you all might enjoy the photo he provided:

Mark has quite a list of mods he makes to the No. 1, many of which improve function but are not obvious to a casual observer.

I asked about the standard package he does to a No.1. He said he charges $850 to install a the recessed safety, trigger(can be adjusted to 1.5 pounds, hinge pin and surface grind the sides of the action. All these parts are ones he manufactures himself.

He send this photo an mentioned that quite a bit if extra work had been done. I would tend to believe he did all the metal work himself. He is known to be an outstanding metalsmith.
