Who dun it?
Anyone care to speculate on who might have built this rifle. Don't look like an amature job to me.

Thanks,
John

From first glance, I'd say it looks an awful lot like the one I built!

LOL, I guess it would be a lot easier if I'd have included the link.

The start of the comb looks interesting.

Somethings up with that rifle. Most of the work looks to be very high quality, but the comb is a mystery to me. I'm wondering if the original owner had a facial deformity or was left-eye dominant. I'm hopeful that was nice work with a purpose, otherwise its a ghastly mistake.

how would that cheekpiece profile be beneficial for someone with left eye dominance?

That transition from the top line of grip into a shallow comb nose had some popularity. It was a treatment that yielded a straighter stock. Don Allen used a similar style in his latter work.

I think it's high quality work. Don't know who's it is, but much of it reminds me of Dennis Erhardt.

It looks like a Dean Zollinger rifle to me. I know Eddie had him build rifles for him at one time. I've done some metal work for him but not sure if this is one of mine or not. Eddie is a nice guy, give him a call.

Thanks everyone. It is an interesting treatment of the comb nose. I think it is just a little to racy for my taste.

Iv'e got a 98 Mauser that looks almost like it but somewhat slimmer, but mine has a shadow line cheeck-piece. It was made by Kevin Campell.

Never saw anything that racy come off Don's bench. I didn't work with him till the end though. It does look similar to the work of some who have worked for Don........Not me though.

Paul, it does look like Bruce Russels Russels work. That would have been my first guess.
