I have a Moyers trigger in my #1A (.30-06). I received the rifle with a horrendous trigger pull and thought that the installation of an after-market trigger would help. It did a bit, but the trigger still is gritty and the weight of pull is probably two to three times what it should be. The gunsmith that installed the trigger couldn't do more with it, but tried to sell me an Austrian-made set trigger for just under $185 (not including installation). My search is still continuing. Good luck-I hope you have more usccess than I have. [Frown]

Mark Penrod @ Penrod Precision works wonders on Ruger #1 triggers. Clean crisp pull, includes timing of safety andhammer retraction cam for $75.

This guy is "HIGHLY" recommended. It's money well spent.

The triggers on all my early No. 1's and a No. 3 were pretty decent as they came from the factory. In addition, their trigger adjustments worked just like the owner's manual said they should. The trigger on a recently manufactured .375 H&H No.1 I have is poor, and the adjustments don't work correctly either. It feelsmushy, and this after being "improved" by a competent gunsmith. He got it to 3.5 lb., but it is creepy! I did install a Canjar simgel-set on a No. 1A made in 1976. It was easy to install, and works great set ot unset. I use it unset, because a single-set is hard to use in cold weather while hunting. I'm always afraid it will slip while setting it!!
