Mauser Hardness???
Should I have my FN comercial tested for hardness if I rebarrel in to a 30-06?
Should I have my Turk 98 tested ror hardness if I rebarrel it to 6.5x55?
thanks capt david

Kurt thinks your serious. If that turk has small ring threads a swedish mauser barrel will turn it into a Twede.

I think you should take it to a real gunsmith who will advise you that it is neccesarry, and he will send it off to a heat treat shop and mark up the price as much as you can pay. Then when the heat treat of your Mauser is ruined you will be in the great company of some happy consumers. Do a search on this forum.

That's what I'm building. I've already got my barrel from samco. capt david

The commercial FN is modern steel alloy. Hardness should not be an issue unless there has been some welding done.
