bartsche22PPC Sako
Does anyone have any experience( good or bad ) with the Sako Varmint rifle in 22PPC? I have a chance to buy one new in the box. They are discontinued so this may be the last chance. Is there anything comparable in price and quality as an option? I have to make a decision soon I'm told? Thanks roger

mhoRoger, the only comparable thing I found (same caliber, same accuracy "expectation", same approximate price category) was the Cooper M21. There are currently a couple on GunsAmerica, if you want something to look at, although I think the models there are a tad more expensive. The standard M21 Varminter can be found at below 1K.
Which Sako are you looking at? There used to be models with a 2oz externally adjustable trigger - they came in single shots, not sure if they came in repeaters as well? If I could get one of those, I'd find the cash pronto-pronto. The current Sako 75 only comes in a repeater in .22 PPC. Is a repeater what you want? If yes, then the Cooper is not a real alternative for you.
Regardless of Sako or Cooper, you should expect to get a great rifle right out of the box.
