Need Gunsmith Who Does TIG Welding...
Have a Mauser with the rear scope mount not centered at 12:00, it is a few degrees off. I will need to have the screw-holes TIG'ed and redrilled.

I would like a really experienced, Mauser specialist to do this for me. Anyone know any gunsmiths who can do this?

Thanks.

Isn’t that sort of like hiring Michelangelo to paint your bathroom?

The guy just needs two holes filed and new holes drilled and tapped.

Depending on the type of scope base you use, the dirtier, less expensive way of solving this problem is to buy a scope base blank and have a 'smith drill and tap new holes and put filler screws in the old ones. Once the scope mount is installed, you'll never know that there's two other holes hiding under there...

That's just plain funny! Especially when the good Mr. Burgess reads these forums, I want to see his reply. Smiler

Thank you for your suggestions, but I have already been contacted by a 'smith who I know will do an excellent job.

You did ask for a "really experienced Mauser specialist". And that is exactly what Thomas is. Knowing him, I have no doubt he would tell you right up front if he didn't want to take a small job.
