JudgeSharpemessed up AGAIN
ello the cmpfire:
Well I messed up again. I was "fixing"he trigger pull on my 270 Browning A Bolt and brok it. I got yhe triger pull right with almost no creep, about 3 lbs, and real smoth a vast improvment over the factory trier pull. Thenas Iam ptng it back on the action, I broke the pot metal housing for the trigger group. I could not believe it. It snaped under finger pressure ptting the small split pin through. Looks like I am going to have to replace it anyway so all my careful work is for naught. Some days it does not pay to try to do anything. I figure I will go with a timny if I can find one for an A-bolt. rownel's did not list one on line.
I am glad I have another rifle to start gun season with. Bow season has been a bust so far. I need meat in the feezer.

Rick 0311Can you say DEVCON? Patch that puppy up and grind/file to fit. I patched a small crack in the pot-metal housing on a Remington 870 shotgun with DEVCON and it‘s worked fine for about 10 years now.

MarkI think Kester Solders makes a special pot metal solder too. Whether or not it is strong enough I guess you'll have to find out, but it's another option.

Rick 0311Any good bedding material will patch pot-metal and end up being stronger than the metal iteself. I just use DEVCON because it’s the strongest stuff I have found, but I’m sure acraglass or Marine Tec would work just as well.
