Source for ultra thin wall 6 point socket 1/4"
I have an old Bonehill hammer cape gun. I am fitting new firing pin (thanks Rusty!) and am working in very tight quarters. Looks like I need a 6 poing, 1/4 drive very thin socket in 1/4". For whatever reason, I seem to find think sockets in metric or most every other dimension than 1/4".

Any idea on source? Thanks guys. Bob

Take a standard socket and turn or grind down.

Bob, like Aaron said, chuck a deepwell socket in a cordless drill and spin it against your bench grinder with frequent dips in water to keep it cool. Or, give me the outside dimension you are looking for and I will put a spare in the lathe and turn it down for you and put it in the mail. Let me know. Lee

Don’t both Snapon and Craftsman offer thin wall sockets?

I turn them down in the lathe using carbide tooling. Piece of cake.

Think about hex screwdriver bits: they are 1/4". Look at hex drivers, some are thin wall. Head for the hardware store.

Both do but most likely not thin enough for this job.

Gary, thanks for suggestion. Lee turned down a socket, fits perfect, then I got to watch him fit and polish new firing pin, works like it's supposed to. Bob

Always had, always will.

Very kind and generous individuals here.

I asked for a Wilson trimmer cutter for larger calibers than .5.

A gentle,an added me to give him the dimensions of the other end, and he made me one that trims all our larger case, up to the .700 NE.

All done for free, out of his kindness.

My hat is off to all of you who help fellow members.

That is exactly how it should be.
