Jim KobeThis has got to be an excersize in futility. Why in the helll would anybody want to look at ER Shaw website unless they wanted to be disatisfied? Or perhaps, this indiviual is a pervert and wants and excersize in sado-masochism. Perhaps you have also figgered out how I feel about Shaw barrels. There are so many good ones around, why this?

<RickMD>Mr. Kobe:
The man asked for an email address. Not a rude tirade from you regarding something that you obviously know nothing about.
I've used Shaw barrels for many years and my gunsmith (who has build custom rifles for 50 years) claims they're a good value for the money.
Of five rifles sporting Shaw barrels in my rack, there is only one that will not shoot sub MOA. They're far superior to any factory barrel.

BradRick, I had Shaw do three different stainless barrels for me. All shot sub-moa groups. I lapped-in the lugs before I sent each rifle, and for $245 they put a chambered tube on... sort of hard to argue with that. Granted, they'll only chamber 33's and above in their #2.5 contour... that tube is a bit heavy for my likes. However, I absolutely agree they're better than any factory tube. Apparently two years ago they "re-tooled" and I've been the benficiary of the improvement in quality brought about by their investment of half a million dollars in machine upgrades.

Bob MehaffeyBrad and Rick, Thanks for your input. I'm going to send them a 36 Mexican Mauser and have them bbl it for the 7 X 57. If it will shoot less that 2" it will serve my purpose and most folks I've talked to say they do better than that. Again, thanks.

Ed KayBob,
I've used E.R.Shaw 12 ga. blanks for years to make target shot guns (approx. 40" long and 1 1/8"
o.d.) and found them to be very good on the bore polish, size and straightness. The only people to have any trouble with them didn't seem to know what they were doing.
Also, E.R.Shaw has always been great to work with, at least for me.
Good luck, I think you will be pleased.
ED
